ERROR Series:

The pictures of the series ERROR are affected by failures of electronic data transmissions. Where exactly these errors occur in the technical system can hardly be determined.

These failures assume an interesting life on the surface of the image. One part of the picture is still a representation of the world ‘outside’; the other part is a representation of the apparatus or the programme.

Pictures like these are singular, they appear suddenly and they cannot be repeated.
In a specific way they are more concrete than the images we have learned to consider correct and they are more truthful because they exemplify their theoretical background or provenance.
